There is a gap which cannot be filled up but one that is fertile.1 In a cellar, ceramic spheres roughly the size of billiard balls are scattered across the floor. Among them lies a rectangular plasterboard, serving as a screen for a projected video. Subtitles summon an absent voice, drifting between closeness and distance, loneliness and friendship, while the background color of the video slowly shifts. From an adjacent room, concealed behind a heavy metal lid set into the wall, a distorted bird song is coming through.
The work adresses emptiness as a spatial and personal condition. A building given to artists for intermediate use no longer defined by its former function, not yet claimed by a future one. The house becomes a shared framework for production, exchange, and presence, even as it remains fundamentally temporary. Friendships and collaborations are renegotiated, some connections sharpen, others loosen, some dissolve quietly. The state of the building mirrors this process, holding traces of what has been and anticipations of what might come.
