Gedanken gehen immer zurück, 2023
Installation with 3D-printed ceramics
Photographs want to locate an experience, sometimes they try to define an object. As a storage space for later thoughts, they represent a collection of possibilities. What occurs when this collection remains inactivate, when no single image is selected as a subject? How does perception establish its own boundaries?
Several ceramic shapes on the floor, stacked or isolated, resemble identifiable forms while some remain ambiguous.
The objects are based on photographs taken during the trip to different places in South Korea. Using a ceramic 3D printer, various pictorial elements were transformed into three-dimensional objects.
